چکیده

Dyslipidemia is a metabolic condition linked to increased morbidity. This study aimed evaluate the effect of two new nutraceuticals derived from annatto (Bixa orellana), açaí (Euterpe oleracea), and soybean germ or red clover isoflavones (Trifolium pratense) against high-fat-induced dyslipidemia in female Wistar rats. The formulations were assessed through GC-MS HPLC-UV/Vis. Next, rats received daily administrations coconut oil treated with Ormona® SI (OSI), RC (ORC), (SG), simvastatin (simv.), + (simv. OSI), only distilled water (control). Biochemical tests performed using animals’ blood, their arteries screened for atheroma formation. results show abnormal TC, TG, LDL, HDL levels caused by high-fat diet, glucose levels, hepatotoxicity, nephrotoxicity, atherogenesis. significantly ameliorated all conditions, that are similar group simvastatin. Notably, groups either had better liver protection than those SG simvastatin; additionally, could prevent atherogenesis, unlike SG. indicate high efficacy preventing its complications.

Fenugreek Seed Extract Inhibit Fat Accumulation and Ameliorates Dyslipidemia in High Fat Diet-Induced Obese Rats

This study investigated the inhibitory effect of aqueous extract of Trigonella foenum-graecum seeds (AqE-TFG) on fat accumulation and dyslipidemia in high fat diet- (HFD-) induced obese rats. Female Wistar rats were fed with HFD ad libitum, and the rats on HFD were treated orally with AqE-TFG or orlistat ((HFD for 28 days+AqE-TFG (0.5 and 1.0 g/kg) or orlistat (10 mg/kg) from day 8 to 28), resp...

Co-administration of retinoic acid and atorvastatin mitigates high-fat diet induced renal damage in rats

Obesity causes many problems such as cardiovascular and chronic kidney diseases. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of retinoic acid and atorvastatin co-administration in kidneys protection against high-fat diet induced damage. Twenty-five male Wistar rats (200.00 ± 20.00 g) were divided into five groups: 1) Control (standard diet), 2) High-fat diet (cholesterol 1.00%, 75 days),...

Tocotrienols Reverse Cardiovascular, Metabolic and Liver Changes in High Carbohydrate, High Fat Diet-Fed Rats

Tocotrienols have been reported to improve lipid profiles, reduce atherosclerotic lesions, decrease blood glucose and glycated haemoglobin concentrations, normalise blood pressure in vivo and inhibit adipogenesis in vitro, yet their role in the metabolic syndrome has not been investigated. In this study, we investigated the effects of palm tocotrienol-rich fraction (TRF) on high carbohydrate, h...

Anti-oxidant and anti-hyperlipidemic activity of Hemidesmus indicus in rats fed with high-fat diet

Objective: Dietary changes playmajor risk roles in oxidative stress andcardiovascular disease and modulate normal metabolic function. The present study was designed to investigate the ameliorative potential of different extracts of Hemidesmus indicus to experimental high-fat diet in wistar rats, and their possible mechanism of action.  Materials and Methods: Male wistar rats were divided into 6...

Neurotrophic Effects of Swimming and Crocin Consumption on the Rats with Obesity Induced by a High-fat Diet

Introduction: Obesity is known as a multifactorial physical disorder. On the other hand, regular sport exercises and crocin consumption have beneficial effects on obesity. In this regard, the present study aimed to investigate the effect of eight weeks of swimming training with crocin consumption on neurotrophic factors in the heart tissue of obese rats. Methods</strong...
